The Port-Harcourt based Nigerian rapper and singer, Swiss Horsfall, released his debut extended play in 2018 that had him on the brink of discovering his sounds and putting diverse music together to see how far he could layer impact and expand beyond the Port-Harcourt music industry.
The 23-year-old Swiss Horsfall has begun putting in the work to gain solid ground in his city. Swiss was opportune to perform his recent tracks compilation, titled "Wayward and Relentless", in the just concluded maiden edition of Port-Harcourt city's monthly, "The Listening Party" at Micheal's Garden. Swiss performed eloquently, alongside other fast-rising and up-and-coming stars; on the mic, Horsfall becomes very energetic and connects with the range of demography through his iconic music.
Swiss Horsfall is very talented and confident in himself and the style of his music. He makes trap music more appealing, confiding in his rap flows through hip-hop rhythm to tell and expand through good storytelling that is crystal clear and very relatable. On "Going Thru It", the third track on his most recent project, he expressed going through a lot in his life, yet, in his early twenties as he keeps searching for inspirations, as he dropped out of college to do it on his own. He finds and embraces his love for the music, believes he has so much to prove in between and has been going through it because he is head up. He is paving a path to create an impact from his city and going beyond.
Horsfall is on the journey to connect and expand, layering Impact to a range of listener's through his very natural flows that he story part of his experiences, and tends to offer hope to a host of listeners. As that is where the birth of his most recent project, comes from.
Horsfall's project comes from many expressions through myriad experiences that he has faced, they're from bright and outstanding lyrical pointers that folded into the formation of a 7-track sophomore project, "Wayward and Relentless", that had him focus on his kinds as I had him walk the trails of a conversation where he explained the essence and purpose of the project.
"It’s an album for misfits and outlaws trying to find a path for themselves."
He said.
"Wayward and Relentless, communicates and relates with such demography as they're part of our reality, I've been there and I'm walking the trails. Regardless of every obstacle, we are relentless and longs to reach for more."
Swiss Horsfall stated, finally.
Swiss Horsfall is being deliberate about unlocking the power in his music, as he understands that, with budding a career in music, he would assist the upliftment of a range of music lovers that might be down and need motivation in some way. According to him, a couple of other great creator's music I listened to enlightened and elated him at some point in his life. They assured me hope and assisted me to walk the trail of my dark times successfully. He, too, believes his music wields the same power.
